Wonderful World

“I hear babies cry, and I watch them grow, they’ll learn much more than I’ll ever know. And I think to myself, ‘What a wonderful world.'”

Weiss &Thiele, “What a Wonderful World”

Do you think that today is just an ordinary day? Today is not an ordinary day…today is the day that was created for YOU.

Every single moment of this life you’re living is a gift, every second of time has been created, for you. If you believe that the Sun rose this morning simply because that’s what it always does, then…think again. The Sun rose because you can see it, because you can feel it against your skin. The Sun knows that, without you? It would have no meaning.

So it is with the simple wonders of the world…

…they way your clothes warm your body in the morning…how your arms, legs and fingers move about without giving them a single thought…how the Sun brightens the sky without an alarm clock…

…the way a rainbow can make a perfect delicate arch across the horizon…how shadows and sunbeams create artwork and pictures, impossible for the human hand to replicate…how a simple lone flower can open its petals in order to embrace the promise of new life…

…the simplicity of the rain falling down from the sky…the story, ever-changing, as clouds move this way, that way, then back again…the mystery of a newborn butterfly and its wings…

…the possibility of a new friendship…

…the surprise and warmth of a stranger’s smile…

…the answer to a heartfelt prayer.

There are trillions of tiny miracles and precious delights put here on this Earth as a gift, for you. Will you pull on its strings? Will you open the box? Will you cherish the gift, widen your eyes and see the world around you anew?

Because, this much I know…the more you love life? The more life will love YOU.

Just living is not enough...one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower. ~Hans Christian Andersen
