Brilliance comes from the darndest places…

“Knowledge is love and light and vision.”

I’ve recently come into the habit of reading my tea bags. Hmm. Let me explain…

When you buy a package of Yogi tea, you’ll find that each individual tea bag comes with a quote attached on the end. Motivational sayings like… “The voice of your soul is breath” or “In the beginning is you, in the middle is you and in the end is you.” I’ve found that I look forward to reading these little tidbits of advice nearly as much as sipping the tea that it comes attached to. And so, this morning, when I made my tasty brew, and was welcomed by the saying: “Lift people up to their potential and higher self,” it got me thinking.

How? How can I lift others up to their potential and higher selves? How can I be a source of motivation and healing to others I know–and to others I don’t know–by simple being me?

The answer came quite simply. Like a word in a bucket of water being poured down my back, I knew what I could do: LOVE. I can lift others up to their highest potential by offering them unconditional, unassuming, love.

Love is easy. We tend to think that it’s hard, but it’s truly not. Like the sun coming out on a rainy day, it is always there, beneath the surface of every single thing that we do.

Love can be offered with a smile, a hug, a wave, a gentle touch, a warm greeting…

Love is felt through our prayers, our positive thoughts, our well wishes, our excitement and enthusiasm…

Love is shown through happiness, forgiveness, encouragement and respect…

Love is to think well of ourselves, and to think well of others, and to pass this message on not in loud words, but in powerful, heartfelt actions…

I am a writer. Sometimes my life is extremely lonely. Because of this, I often seek love more than others. I purposefully try to make eye contact with people I meet on my walks. I stop to pet the heads of dogs whenever welcome to do so. I talk to the birds, embrace the energy around me and send as much positivity as I can out into my environment. Does it make a difference? I hope so. For if I can touch the heart of someone else, then they can touch the heart inside of me.

Love, and then without expecting anything in return, let it go. The positive vibration of just that one simple act is sure to start a never-ending domino effect from me, to you, out into the world.

How do you show love? Large or small, I’d enjoy hearing your answer. Hugs…xoxo.
